THIS IS COSMO RAINES' POETRY CORNER - ENJOY!
Victory
Sin has garrisoned a foothold Darkening a corner of my heart Time will tick As He melts the stone Weighing so heavy in my chest His angels lay siege Gathering in the cool valleys
They mount up They confront the accuser They strike when I have no strength My cup is filled I thirst no longer Bread is offered to my eager lips I hunger no longer I feed upon the lamb
Upon my knees I exalt and praise Him Upon my brow I feel His fresh anointing Ushered into me is the strength of the lion The battles will be long I will grow weary But He who never slumbers
Will refine this soul like gold And the wicked shall find no rest there
Dark Undercurrents
Flowing and weaving Swirling and whirling Enticing the dance Of those who smile above it
A cheer and a jeer For all who are near To let them see That there is no problem with me I am above the wake Oh the distance I stake Untouchable Yet grounded in slag I stand high above you
I set myself apart I hope that you will not speak About the topic I will not start My calluses are so thick Am I no longer in any pain By the fire that burns below me - In the pits of my disdain
These dark undercurrents They suckle at my spirit Draining me of true life - Resistance? I've learned to fear it! Where will these tides eventually take me? Is there a single caring soul out there?
No, I will not reach out for help - As it will ruin the lie I choose to bear…
This is a little song that I received during my worship of the Lord.
I ADORE YOU
i love you lord jesus
Jesus, you are the Lamb of God, worthy is your name Jesus, precious Lamb of God, worthy is your name
I adore you, yes, I adore you
As I follow that glorious star to your birth Yes, I adore you, Yes, I adore you As I see you take your first breath on this earth so wonderful, so wonderful
Jesus, you are the Word of God, worthy is your name Jesus, you are the Word of God, worthy is your name
and, I behold you, yes I behold you As you heal the sick, the lame - raise the dead
I behold you, yes, I behold you As you love the world and seek the lost To redeem us all, to redeem us all
Jesus, you are the Son of God, worthy is your name
Jesus, you are the Son of God, worthy is your name
and I exhalt you, yes, I exhalt you As I see you hanging there in pain I exhalt you, yes, I exhalt you As I see you turn your eyes toward me
so beautiful, so beautiful
Jesus, (pause) beloved of God, worthy is your name Jesus, (pause) beloved of God, worthy is your name
And I receive you, yes I receive you
As I see you roll away the stone I receive you, yes I receive you As I see you ascend up to your Throne forevermore, forevermore
And you offer unto me life eternally, life eternally
Jesus, you are the breath of God, holy is your name
Jesus, you are the breath of God, holy is your name
I believe you, yes I believe you
when you say I have eternal life - born again - kingdom of God - king of the world - door to father - only way to the Father
A Day Just Like This
Days like this
There is no explaining it Your love stretches over me And the dark clouds cease to encompass my eyes Days like this No words find a proper meaning Your love washes over me
And the treacherous oceans are stilled Days like this My breath finds no voice Your love sings over me And the noise of the world is silenced Days like this My lips are agape
Your love whips over me And the restless winds are hushed Days like this I am overjoyed We meet together and rejoice And the Lord rejoices with us Days like this I am so fortunate
I have a friend that loves me - a friend that I love, too.
Days like this Cool and soft Bright and still Crisp and calm I delight in knowing you My memories will never fade
I have a picture secured deep in my soul I have a map that traces back To the day the Lord led me to you It was a day A day just like this
I wish I was a bug
I wish I was a bug
on your rug, sitting there so snug as I look at your mug Upon your sleeve I would give a tug So you would scream - 'you big lug!' But don't run! - I need a hug And don't try to squish me! -
Or I'll run into the hole in your soap that I dug I would be small - but I'd have feelings, too! - Would you still cuddle with me - If I were your little bug-wug?
