So - How did Spirit Gear come to be?
When God presents someone with a calling, it is difficult to ignore the offer. Eight years ago, Cosmo Raines received such an calling in the form of a vision from the Lord. The vision: to glorify the Lord by inventing unique, high quality and extremely practical products that remind, challenge and equip believers to know His Holy Word and to share it with the world.
Cosmo formed the company Spirit Gear to facilitate the vision given him. The resulting products are great conversation starters and are designed to bear witness to the Power of God's Word in a believer's life. At Spirit Gear, the Bible – the inspired Word of God – is central to everything that is done because "The Word of the Lord shall not return void" (Isaiah 55:11). Therefore, Scripture is included on every product made.
Spirit Gear first entered the Christian gift market with God-Tags™ – military-style embossed Identification Tags. Each had Scripture embossed on them. Screen-printed and etched tags were soon added to the God-Tag™ roster. Once again, Scripture is found on these tags, but each of these tags depicts a screen-printed or etched Christian design as well. God-Tags™ provide a unique way of carrying Scripture with you wherever you go and may be used as a necklace, key chain or bookmark. The capacity to make custom tags for any group or event was later added to the Spirit Gear repertoire. In fact, working with camps, youth groups and ministry groups to create their own customized tags has opened doors of sharing God's Word – literally - around the world.
Another new and practical product was introduced last year as a result of the Lord's inspiration: Prayer Tags™. They are a convenient means of keeping prayer requests close at hand while serving as a reminder of what and who to pray for. Prayer Tags™ are two God-Tags™ held together by magnets. Between the magnets are sheets of waterproof and tear-resistant paper that can be written on with a ballpoint pen. When someone mentions a prayer request to you, Prayer Tags™ enable you to jot it down, thereby showing the person that you are sincere when you say, "I will pray for you."
Most recently, Spirit Gear has been blessed with three more products: Prayer Pillows, Scripture Stones and Scripture Stone Soap. Each help to keep God's Word at hand in a beautiful way.
Through the inspiration of these products, Cosmo has learned that only the Word of God is eternal and able to change hearts and restore men to the presence of God eternally – everything else will pass away.

Spirit Gear™ Business Beliefs
We believe popular "Christian" products (military tags, T-shirts, books, etc.) can have and have had a profoundly positive - OR - a profoundly negative impact on the world's understanding of the Truth found in the Scriptures and in the person of Jesus Christ. We believe that we must rely on and trust in God's Word in order to teach the Truth of Jesus Christ. Current Christian retailing has been offering products that promote Christ, yes... but rarely the Gospel. When there is a T-shirt or a tag that has a "Christian" slogan, and maybe a verse reference, the Body of Christ is stating that the slogan is more powerful at reaching the lost than the actual Scripture. Why don't we put the verse in BIG BOLD LETTERS and let it stand on its own? To take a concept from some Christian Music Artists - The Waiting - why are we trading in our crosses of silver for some imitation? Do we think that our catchy slogans will out-do the Word of God? Are we simply marketing Christian products that only we as Christians understand (which, we have found in many instances, most people have no real understanding of the principle that is being stated on their shirt.)
We believe that the Truth in John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." is the light by which we must inspect all that is written, read, heard, and said. If the Truth found in the Scripture is not in the foreground of our work, then we are leaning to our own abilities and understanding (Proverbs 3:5) in trying to convey the Gospel - when all we really need has been given to us already... The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

People will never be saved by a Christian Catch-Phrase - but only by the Living and Active Word of God --- that has been, is, and will be - forever and ever. It is more than powerful enough to touch every man, woman, and child with a loving and gracious hand by which all who call out to Him can be saved... We believe in the power of His Word. The Holy Scriptures will always be the emphasis of our message on every product we send out. No matter how strange or beautiful the image on the flip-side --- The Word is always more beautiful.
We believe, that in order to have true spiritual health, we must be in the Word and in Communion with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost all day long. We believe that it is essential that we clothe ourselves with The Word, spend time in His Holy Presence, spend time in Godly Fellowship, and Pray continually and effectively. If we do this, then we shall be prepared by the Power of God to do the Works of God by His Holy Spirit. By His leading and His Strength we may be found worthy enough to reach out to the lost. We believe that what we wear can have a great impact in our own lives and in the lives of those God purposes us to meet. We believe that if we clothe ourselves with the Righteous and Holy Word of God, we can have the tools we need to share the Gospel every time He creates an opportunity to do so.
